Chronicle of the partnership |
The first (opening) mobility: Vasto (Italy), 16 -18 November 2011 participants: all partners |
The Intercultural City - Migrations in Changing Europe started its operation in Vasto on 16 November 2011. The partners are: the Italians from Vasto (they are the coordinators of it), The Portuguese from Santo Tirso, the French from the faraway island of Saint Matin and the Hungarians from Zalaegerszeg, In the first meeting we got acquainted with each other and spoke and cheated a lot, asked and answered a plenty of questions. The Italians showed us around their school and their beautiful town. We were welcomed by the town mayor and were interviewed by the press, radio and TV. The Italians did all their best to give us a warm welcome and they perfectly managed to do it. We will never forget them. We also re-scheduled our project programme, decided the time of the motilities and the topics we have to deal with in each meeting. The next topic is the connection of school and multiculturalism. Let's meet in Portugal next spring! |
The second mobility: Santo Tirso (Portugal) 28th-30th March 2012 participants: all partners |
There is a small school in a tiny town of Portugal we had never heard about before but now we remembered it for the rest of our lives. It was nice to see our old friends again. We worked a lot to make each other familiar with the problems of immigrants as it appears in schools. And we will never forget the day spent together in the park of Santo Tirso where we planted a tree, could try different traditional games, listened to a great concert. And we even could take part in the traditional celebration of Arts in Santo Tirso where we had to read a poem in our native language. Our mates dressed in black with their faces painted in white gave unforgettable presentation. The next meeting will be in Hungary. The topic will be the relation of the immigrants and public services. See you in October in Zalaegerszeg. |
The third mobility: Zalaegerszeg (Hungary) 23-26 October 2012 Participants: St. Martin, Portugal, Hungary |
A real freezing rainy October day greeted our friends in Zalaegerszeg. We tried to do our best to compensate them for it. Unfortunately there were only 3 partners of us as the Italians couldn't come. The French arrived first and we decided to wait for the Portuguese with warm dinner. We made our multinational dinner together and it was a great success. We discussed our presentations and were welcomed by our town mayor and even more our meeting was reported on local TV. We wanted our friends to know how beautiful our area is so we went for a trip to a natural reservation area (Kis-Balaton). And we invited them to a classical music concert and they were fascinated by it. As it was a 'student week' in our grammar school, our guests were really involved in its students' life. They gave their performance in the stage production so called "The stage is yours". The next meeting will be in St. Martin in February 2013. We have to make presentations about the difficulties caused by the acquisition of their new language. |
The fourth mobility: St. Martin (France) 3-6 February 2013 participants: all partners |
A week of a lifetime in amazing island of Saint Martin. The kids become an excellent community. We did a lot of work at school and could enjoy the warm hospitality os Saint Martin people. Everything was new, unexpected and unbelievable for us. We got an entirely new attitude to life, that of sun, happiness and enjoyment. We tasted a lot of local dishes and enjoyed a beach party, visited a traditional garden of local people, took part in the carnival, went for a daily trip around the island. The uploaded presentations show that we also worked a lot.. We were greeted by many representatives of the island: by the town (island) mayor and the president of the island. We were interviewed a lot of times. After Saint Martin we have only one last evening left. The closing mobility will be in Italy in May. The topic is Multiculturalism and economics. |
The fifth(closing) mobility: Vasto (Italy), 8-12 May 2013 participants: Italy and Hungary |
The closing meeting took place in the room where we stated our project. We had to give the summary of all experience we gained during this 2 years. First we started with our new projects about the economics. The opening ceremony was really very well organized and beautiful. The presentations as always were very informative. We spent only one day together stuffed with a lot of programmes. We were shown around the beautiful seaside city, visited a nature reservation area. The Italians are great friend we really hope to keep in touch with them. We had a press coverage again. |
