The fifth(closing) mobility: Vasto (Italy), 8th-12th May 2013 Interculturalism and Economy |
This meeting went in a really very closed group, only the Hungarians and the Italians could participate. Unfortunately, the others couldn’t come as they had used all their budget. Due to the net, we could organize a video conference with them. The topic was very hard: the effect of immigration on economics. It’s a very topical question nowadays, we speak a lot about multinational companies, whether they have advantageous or disadvantageous influence on the home economics or on small national enterprises. In addition, as the unemployment has been rising steadily and we live in the economic depression, the public opinion usually argues that immigrants endanger the workplaces of native people. Both countries tried to detect these problems in their towns. As it was our last meeting it was more formal than the previous ones. We had to summarize the outcomes, effects and experiences of the past two years. We got a chance to be a part of an international partnership which had a task to work on. The topic wasn’t easy, it required the knowledge from various subjects, being well informed about everyday questions and we had to use our initiative at the same time to work together with the others. Furthermore we had to do it in a common language which is not a common language for any of us. And even not to mention the friendship formed among us. We are teens who are ultimately the same all around the world. |
